Archives of other shows to leave my site soon!

Beginning May 11, 2015, old archives of other shows that I have done, like impromptus, fill-in’s, and other special shows will no longer be available on my website. The reason is because I’ve been noticing my site really needs some spring cleaning, and these shows quite simply are wasting disk space, and they’re not being downloaded enough.

So, if you want any of these shows, you can surf through my site, and grab all the archives available to you. Some of the posts on my site to these archives are broken, so if you do come across a post about an archive that you want, and it is broken, let me know through my contact form, providing the show title, and date of the post, and I’ll send you a link to that show, if I still have it.

This site cleanup will make room for some new changes to my website coming soon! Eventually, I hope to provide ALL past episodes of The Geno J Show via an RSS feed. Sometime next year, the show will be listed on ‘iTunes’, and new episodes of the show will show up on my “Entries” page, rather than the “Podcast” page. Both The Geno J Show and The Rockin’ Pop Party will also be available through the “Shows” category as well, to improve search-ability. If you have any feedback, you know how to find me. So, with all that said, I hope you all have a wonderful day!

I sit down with Heather Hutchison on The Rockin’ Pop Party this Saturday, only on Sky 106!

Heather Hutchison: Where the Ocean Meets the Sand - EPOn Saturday, March 21st, 2015, during The Rockin’ Pop Party, I sit down with Heather Hutchison, a new and upcoming artist. Heather has released three albums, all of which sound fantastic! I will be sitting down with her LIVE, asking her the questions that you the listeners want answered, but of course you can call in and present your questions and get them answered too! Not only that, but we’ll talk a little bit about her newest album, “Where the Ocean Meets the Sand – EP”. which you can find on Amazon, iTunes, and other online music retailers. The interview itself will be about an hour long, with a few musical breaks, but you can rest assured that the show will be an interesting one for sure!

Already, Heather was interviewed by me about a year ago on my podcast, The Geno J Show and was a big success! During that time I asked her some pretty pressing questions, and you got to hear her life story, and her crazy ride that an ‘indie’ artist faces. You can listen to that episode of The Geno J Show here.

If you have questions that you’d like to ask Heather during show next week, feel free to call in at +1 (978) 410-3020, tweet, e-mail, contact me through my contact form, or use any other way to get in touch with me, and your question may just get answered LIVE on the air!

Again, it all happens on Saturday, March 21st, 2015 at 5:00pm Eastern on The Rockin’ Pop Party, which is the second hour of the show! Of course, if you’d like to listen to the whole show, it airs from 4:00pm to 7:00pm Eastern, exclusively on Sky 106! We hope to hear from all of you, and encourage your feedback during this awesome event!

Season Two of The Rockin’ Pop Party is coming soon!

I just want to remind everyone that season two of The Rockin’ Pop Party starts on January 24th, with some new concepts, ideas, and themes for the show! I’ll still bring you everything you remember from season one, like “Between the Sheets: Cover Comparison” and “The Rockin’ Hour in History, but also some things that I may introduce later in the year! So, I do hope you’ll catch the brand new season starting Saturday, January 24th, 2015 at 4:00pm Eastern on Sky 106, where you get variety out of the clear blue sky!

The 2nd Annual Rockin’ “Top 100” Pop Party

I’m very pleased to announce that I will be doing The 2nd Annual Rockin’ “Top 100” Pop Party this year! Last year it was a great success, and I really believe this year it will be even bigger than last year’s show!

What is it?

The Rockin’ “Top 100” Pop Party is a show that I’ve been doing for years, although this is the second year that it has kept this title. Bottom line, the show is a seven or eight hour show, where I count down the top 100 US billboards of the year, cramming in as much colorful commentary and entertainment as humanly possible. The feedback has generally been a positive experience, and well worth the once-a-year wait! This show can contain adult content, so don’t invite the kiddies for this one.

Why do you do it?

I’ve been doing this show, or shows similar to it for the past eight or nine years because it has become somewhat an inerrant ritual. I use to do it solely on one station, but found other stations wanted to be apart of it. Since last year’s show, it has become more of a demand, and other stations find that it is absolutely essential, because it unites the internet radio community for one night. For one night, no matter where you stand, when you carry the show or listen to it, you just enjoy the show!

Who will be hosting it?

The show is hosted by me, Geno J. Although, often times, I have guests on the show for parts or even the entire event. It just depends on you the listeners. I can safely say at this point though, you will hear Just Jo on the show.  The way I see it, the more the merrier!

When will it be?

This year The Rockin’ “Top 100” Pop Party will take place on Friday, December 26th, 2014 at 6:00pm Eastern! This show typically doesn’t have an end time, but usually finishes up at about seven or eight hours after the start time. However, it has been known to go longer in years past.

Where do I listen?

The show is home to Sky 106 to this yearly event. However, like last year, the show is being simulcasted on other stations as well. Currently, you’ll be able to find this show on Thunderstruck 2014 and Treehouse Radio as well. So, there’s plenty of ways to tune in!

Enhanced RSS Feeds

To make life simpler, I’ve decided that from now on, you’ll be able to grab The Rockin’ Pop Party in its own RSS feed. There was two reason why I really did this though. One, is because I just don’t have the room to continue to upload archives of The Rockin’ Pop Party on my website, and two is because it just makes it easier for you to grab the shows this way. Yes, you will have to deal with Sendspace, but the convenience and RSS feed make up for that in the end. Also, because of this modification, the Podcast RSS Feed has been renamed to “The Geno J Show”, and the Entries RSS Feed has been renamed to “My Blog Entries”. This should help distinguish which RSS feed is which hopefully. Nonetheless, I hope you find it more convenient!

Upload Feature Added

Send me your files without the worry of inviting me to a Dropbox folder, or file transferring me something over an instant messenger. The file can be up to 2 GB in size, so you can send me almost anything. It doesn’t matter what the file type is, just make sure it’s something safe for me to download. For those that are curious though, it actually uploads to my Sendspace account. I get e-mailed when a file is being sent. You can find this feature on my Downloads page. The only thing I ask from you when you send me a file is for an e-mail address. Nevertheless, I hope you make great use of this new feature.

Social Media Widget Created

You can now find me on Facebook and Twitter from the “Social Media” widget. The links were removed from the “Me on the Net” widget on the left side of the page, but if you open “Me on the Net” from “Links”, you’ll see that they have not been removed from the actual page. The purpose was to make the site more streamlined, and easier to navigate.

Energy to Matter

We all know matter can be transformed into energy, and even energy can be transformed back into matter. But now, scientists say that it’s possible to use light, obviously a form of energy and transform it into matter, more specifically electrons and positrons, which are anti-electrons.

Something this article doesn’t describe is that the implications could be huge. This could be an easier way to create anti-matter, which means it may have a significantly higher impact to our future!

Anti-matter is a form of matter that is just the opposite of matter. Matter, you might remember from chemistry class, consists of protons, electrons, and neutrons. Anti-matter consists of similar particles, with the opposite attributes. Believe it or not, anti-matter is used in such technologies today, like MRI’s and CAT scanners. However, it could be used in the future for space travel, with a concept known as “anti-matter propulsion systems”, this of course is already known by many Star Trek fans. This technology is only theoretical of course, but could one day be far-reaching than just space travel.
